River Vale Country Club offers 18 Championship Holes for golfers of virtually every skill level. Located in Northeast Bergen County, New Jersey in the town of River Vale, our Semi-Private golf facility has a beautiful golf course, driving range, and a great dining experience. Open year round to everyone, weather permitting.
The Design:
An exquisite 18-hole course, 6,470 yards, with a par of 72, we’re set apart from other clubs because of our striking pedigree. Designed by premier golf architects Donald Ross (famous for designing four courses at Pinehurst, North Carolina for the Tufts family) and his associate, Orrin E. Smith, the links were conceived and carefully crafted with pitfalls and traps that are a must to avoid and tests the skill of seasoned golfers and makes it a joy to play. River Vale Country Club is a good looking well-manicured club that operates by accepting private memberships and opens to the public time slots. The Club also boasts a nicely appointed restaurant and bar, men’s and women’s locker rooms, golf pro shop, practice range, and putting green.
An Enjoyable Experience:
From the 1st hole to the 19th hole your golf experience will be a most memorable one you won’t soon forget. The fairways dip and swirl where there is hardly a level lie to be found. What makes this golf course unique is that every hole is different from the next with characteristics reminiscent to golf’s golden era. The 15th hole, a 475-yard par-4 is one of our most challenging holes. It was recently described by New Jersey Golf Magazine as “one of the toughest holes in the state. In addition, the 14th hole is a 233-yard par-3 where no one takes enough club because it plays further than it looks. Finally, the highlight of the front nine is the 5th and 6th holes, consecutive par-5s that offer textbook examples of risk/reward options.
